Our client, a rapidly growing proprietary trading firm handling hundreds of millions of dollars in trading volume, is looking for a Risk Manager in Trading to help strengthen their fraud prevention and detection capabilities across their fast-growing trading platform.

Our Client is a rapidly scaling fintech organization with over 40,000 users and 120,000 active accounts. They are on a mission to provide a seamless and secure trading experience, and as they grow, they’re committed to ensuring the safety and integrity of their platform. This role plays a critical part in protecting their customers and the business from fraudulent activity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct real-time and post-trade audits to identify irregular trading patterns, wash trades, spoofing, and other fraudulent activities.
  • Develop and implement risk assessment frameworks and fraud detection models.
  • Monitor trade execution to ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with compliance, legal, and operations teams to mitigate risks and enforce policies.
  • Stay up to date on trading regulations and implement all necessary compliance updates accordingly.
  • Analyze trade data to detect anomalies, leveraging data analytics tools and machine learning insights.
  • Lead investigations into suspicious transactions and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide regular reports and risk assessments to senior leadership.
  • Monitor activity across social channels (Telegram, Signal, WhatsApp) to identify fraud risks.
  • Audit disputed trades and communicate findings with internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the tech team to build and implement automated fraud detection systems.
  • Recommend process and policy improvements to reduce fraud exposure.
  • Create incident reports and summarize fraud trends for executive visibility.
  • Contribute to a scalable fraud operations strategy as the company grows.




Qualifications:

  • Experience in trading, fintech, or a related financial services environment.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills; keen attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with trading platforms and execution systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial markets and trading principles/strategies.
  • Deep understanding of various types of trading orders and their strategic applications.
  • Familiarity with online communities and communication platforms (Telegram, Signal, etc.).
  • Experience with risk mitigation, fraud detection, or auditing (formal or informal).
  • Comfortable working with data to identify patterns and anomalies.
  • Excellent written communication skills for incident documentation and reporting.
  • Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
